Ghee

  • 2 lb butter (8 sticks)
  • cheese cloth
1) Melt the butter and bring to a simmer on a low stove setting (a good low simmer for my stove is "4")

2) Simmer for 25 minutes, allowing it to separate into three layers. Skim off the top layer of white solids that rise to the surface throughout the process and discard.

3) Turn the stove off and allow it to cool enough to not be simmering.

4) Pour the ghee through cheesecloth into a storage container. Dispose of the remaining solids left in the cheese cloth.
